I just want to say, for the internet record, that I’m no animal hero in any way, shape or form. I feel very blessed to be able to do what I do, but I talk to members of our organization every day who do incredible things for animals and they don’t get paid a dime. (Seriously: you wouldn’t believe how much time and effort people spend/expend doing incredible, life-changing work). To me, those are the heroes. I am just incredibly lucky. And I sure as heck don’t take that for granted.
